Job Opportunity – Commercial Attaché at Quebec Government Office in Houston

The Québec Government Office in Houston is looking for a Commercial Attaché  – (Temporary position – 7 months)

The Québec Government Office in Houston is responsible for developing and promoting economic relations between Québec and the South-Central region of the United States including Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. The office has the mandate to promote Quebec’s expertise and interests, and to facilitate business opportunities for Québec companies.

Under the supervision of the Delegate of the Québec Government Office in Houston, the Commercial Attaché is responsible for the promotion of Québec’s economic interests in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. The incumbent will work with other attachés to facilitate Québec’s export of technologies, goods, and services to the territory.

S/He will:

• Provide practical support to Québec-based companies, helping them to develop business opportunities and partnerships in the U.S.
• Develop and implement strategies and action plans geared to support Québec exports, and advise the Delegate on an overall course of action
• Research and schedule B2B meetings for Québec businesses with local buyers and decision-makers in the territory and organize business events and trade missions.
• Build strong relationships in priority sectors with U.S. business leaders, trade organizations, high tech clusters, industry associations, as well as relevant financial institutions, government officials, think tanks, and business media representatives
• Monitor opportunities in key economic sectors, prepare economic and market analysis and briefing notes
• Attend and represent the Québec Government Office at economic events and conferences, including occasional speaking engagements
