At UT Austin, the faculty and staff of the Department of French and Italian provide and support innovative, high quality teaching. In particular, this teaching is responsive to educational needs and interests of students. The Department does so through courses in pedagogy, language teaching, literary criticism, and cultural studies. In addition, the department offers bachelors degrees in French and Italian. At the graduate level, the department provides three subject tracks leading to doctors degrees: French and Francophone Literature; French Linguistics; Italian Studies.
