Newest Board Member: Juan Garcia

The EACC Texas is pleased to welcome the newest board member, Juan Garcia, who will be replacing Gloria Salinas.

Originally from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Juan Carlos Garcia is the Chief of Staff for Dallas College under the Chancellor’s direction; with over 15 years of experience, Juan Carlos recently served as the Interim-Vice Chancellor of External Affairs working with Dallas College functional area leaders to streamline procedures and enhance collaboration and communication collegewide and throughout Dallas County with their community partners.

Prior to his role, he served the City of Dallas working with current City Manager, Kimberly Bizor Tolbert and former Dallas City Manager, T.C. Broadnax, and their executive team as Special Projects and Dallas City Council Committee Coordinator.

Juan Carlos currently serves on the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the City of Dallas Ethics Advisory Commission (EAC). Juan Carlos previously served on the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the City of Dallas Fentanyl Prevention Strike Force, and the Mayor’s Community Bond Task Force – Critical Facilities Subcommittee.

Juan Carlos is a Dallas Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree, and his educational background includes an A.A. from Dallas College, B.A. in Sociology and a Master’s of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas, a Master’s of Business Administration in Strategic Management from the University of North Texas at Dallas, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Management in Community College Policy and Administration at the University of Maryland – Global Campus.
