Join Us for a Special SXSW Gathering at Eleiko!

Join us on Sunday, March 9th at Eleiko Sport Inc. for an exciting social gathering during SXSW, where you’ll have the opportunity to connect with a dynamic mix of companies as well as representatives traveling from Sweden to Austin.

The evening will feature a special keynote speaker, Siavosh Derakhti, who will share his inspiring insights in his presentation “Courage and Commitment: Making a Difference in an Uncertain World.”

Hosted by Eleiko, this event promises a welcoming and engaging atmosphere, complete with refreshments and authentic barbecue by The Smoking Swede. And of course, no Swedish gathering is complete without something sweet! Our friends at Fika & Candy will introduce their brand and treat guests to a selection of authentic Swedish sweets.

Special Guest – Siavosh Derakhti

During the evening, we will hear from Siavosh Derakhti, an award-winning advocate for social change. Derakhti is not just a speaker – he´s a changemaker. As a young muslim growing up in Malmö, Sweden, Derakhti witnessed firsthand how his childhood bestfriend, who was jewish, faced antisemitism from an early age. Years later, while in highschool, Derakhti saw antisemitism continue to rise – and he knew he had to act. Determined to make a difference, he launched initiatives to “bridge cultural divides” among Malmös youth. Since then, Derakhti has organized study trips and created opportunities for young people from diverse backgrounds to connect. He is the founder of a non-profit organization called UMAF that works against antisemitism and Xenophobia, and has been featured in Forbes Magazine as one of the world’s most influential young leaders. Derakhti is also the first recipient of the newly established ELSA award and the inaugural Raoul Wallenberg Prize. In his speech, “Courage and Commitment: Making a Difference in an Uncertain World,” Derakthi will share his inspiring journey and discuss the power of engagement, diversity, and leadership in today’s world.
