In addition to being a Harvard and Yale-educated lawyer\, for many years\, Ed worked as a part-time musician (trombone) playing everything from grand opera to rhythm and blues. Ed is based in Las Vegas. \n  \nBrinsley Dresden leads the firm’s Advertising and Marketing Sector Focus Group\, with over two decades of experience advising brands and agencies on a wide range of issues. These include defending complex investigations by the Advertising Standards Authority\, as well as filing competitor complaints; obtaining Clearcast approval for TV commercials; and advising on advertising in the automotive\, alcohol\, cosmetics\, food\, pharmaceutical and health sectors. He also drafts and negotiates client/ agency agreements\, influencer agreements and celebrity talent contracts. He advises on compliance for lotteries and competitions\, as well as on resolving advertising related disputes\, such as third party claims of IP infringement and breach of contract claims.  Brinsley is named in the Campaign A List\, the Legal 500 Hall of Fame\, and in Band 1 in the Chambers Directory 2022 and is Secretary and Treasurer of the Global Advertising Lawyers’ Alliance. Brinsley is based in London. \n  \n \nAlan Sutin is a Principal Shareholder of Greenberg Traurig and Senior Chair of the firm’s Global Intellectual Property & Technology Practice. With that said\, the pace of the recovery is moderating as supply shortages and logistical bottlenecks weigh on output. Inventories are very low and many manufacturers simply can’t get the supplies they need. On the labor market side\, it has been challenging to fill open positions due to skills mismatches. \nIn other words\, short-term demand policy seems to have worked well both in Europe and the US. Savings rates are high and investment is growing. But Covid-related supply constraints are holding back growth and look set to last longer than expected. Policy makers on both sides of the Atlantic now need to focus on the medium- to long-term. In this vein\, the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility [RRF] will finance a lot of new investment in green and digital technologies that will boost growth and productivity further while ‘future-proofing’ the economic structure by linking RRF funds to structural reform. RRF roll-out has already started and policy makers as well as the private sector are optimistic\, especially about the speed of the green and digital transitions. \nThe EU Commission still expects supply shortages to be temporary\, but in the meantime\, they are feeding into higher headline inflation\, and there is uncertainty over how to effectively address these bottlenecks in the short term. Rising energy prices are also causing a headache for policy makers in Europe\, where many countries depend on imported gas.
