Years later\, while in highschool\, Derakhti saw antisemitism continue to rise – and he knew he had to act. Determined to make a difference\, he launched initiatives to “bridge cultural divides” among Malmös youth. Since then\, Derakhti has organized study trips and created opportunities for young people from diverse backgrounds to connect. He is the founder of a non-profit organization called UMAF that works against antisemitism and Xenophobia\, and has been featured in Forbes Magazine as one of the world’s most influential young leaders. Derakhti is also the first recipient of the newly established ELSA award and the inaugural Raoul Wallenberg Prize.
